Privacy Policy

Overview

This policy explains what information Life License Exam (“we”, “us”) collects through the Life Insurance License Exam iOS app (the “App”) and the website lifelicenseexam.com (the “Site”), why, and what choices you have. We collect only what we need to run exam practice, sync your progress and process purchases. We do not sell your personal information and we do not show third-party ads.

1. Information we collect

Account information

When you sign in with Apple, Google or an email code, we receive a user ID and, if you share it, your email address and name. Sign in with Apple lets you hide your email; we then receive a relay address. We never receive or store your Apple or Google password.

Study information

Your selected state and exam, exam date, diagnostic answers, practice and mock-exam answers, saved and missed questions, review schedule, study plan and streak. This is what the App uses to calculate readiness and decide what to show you next.

Question reports

If you report a question as wrong or unclear, we store the report, the question it refers to and your note.

Purchase information

Subscription or one-time purchase status, product, and Apple transaction identifiers. Payments are processed by Apple; we never see or store your card details.

Device and diagnostic information

Device model, iOS version, app version, a device identifier for vendor (IDFV) used by our purchase provider, and technical logs needed to fix errors.

Notifications

If you allow study reminders, we store a push-notification token for your device.

Website

The free practice test on the Site runs in your browser. Your answers, state and exam date are kept in your browser's local storage and are not sent to us. We measure visits with Vercel Web Analytics, which uses no cookies and records pages viewed, referrer, country and device type without identifying you. Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs (IP address, browser, pages requested) for security and reliability.

What we do not collect

We do not collect location, contacts, health data, photos, microphone input or the advertising identifier (IDFA), and we do not track you across other companies' apps or websites.

2. How we use information

• Create and secure your account and sync progress between devices.
• Deliver practice, review, mock exams, readiness and your study plan.
• Process purchases, restore them, and unlock premium features.
• Send study reminders you have turned on.
• Review question reports and correct the question bank.
• Fix bugs, prevent abuse, answer support requests and meet legal obligations.

3. Legal basis (EEA, UK and similar laws)

We process data to perform our contract with you (providing the App), on the basis of legitimate interests (security, fixing errors, improving content), with your consent (notifications — you can withdraw it in iOS Settings at any time), and where the law requires it (tax and purchase records).

4. Service providers

We share data only with providers that run parts of the App for us, and only what they need:

• Supabase — authentication, database and backend functions, including account deletion. Account and study data. Privacy policy
• Adapty — purchase and subscription management. User ID, IDFV, device model and OS, purchase history and paywall interactions. Privacy policy
• Apple — Sign in with Apple, In-App Purchases and push notifications. Privacy policy
• Google — only if you choose Sign in with Google. Privacy policy
• Vercel — hosting of the Site and cookieless visit analytics. Privacy policy

We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of users.

5. Data retention

We keep your data while your account is active. When you delete your account, your account and study data are deleted from our systems. Limited records may be kept longer where the law requires it (for example purchase records) or to resolve disputes and prevent fraud, and backups expire on their normal cycle.

6. Deleting your account

In the App go to Settings → Delete Account. This permanently deletes your account and progress. You can also email examprepappios@gmail.com from the address linked to your account; we respond within 30 days. Deleting the App does not cancel a subscription — manage that in your Apple ID settings.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live (including under the GDPR and California law), you may ask to access, correct, delete or export your data, object to or restrict processing, and withdraw consent. Write to examprepappios@gmail.com. You can also complain to your local data protection authority. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

8. Children

The App is for adults preparing for a professional license and is not directed at children under 13 (or 16 where local law requires). We do not knowingly collect their data; if you believe a child has given us data, contact us and we will delete it.

9. Security

Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS), access to the database is restricted by row-level security, and we do not store payment cards or passwords. No system is completely secure, but we work to protect your data and will notify you where the law requires.

10. International transfers

Our providers may process data in the United States, the European Union and other countries. Where required, transfers rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or another lawful mechanism.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. The effective date at the top shows the latest version; for material changes we will also notify you in the App.
